Max, if I was desperate I would put myself out there a bit more, but after so many disappointments I'd rather take it slow I suppose... but maybe now i am taking it too slow... it was just kinda reality check: if I don't date I will not meet anyone for sure...

Hmmmm, he says...

True, nobody will come knocking if they don't know you exist. And true that there are many fakes and liars out there. I had a horrible experience with a woman two years back who lied about everything... except the bad stuff. Another story. Yes, ultimately you'll have to either start dating or actively pursuing a relationship with someone... I don't see me finding the love of my life by looking through profiles. It's all about the interaction. If there's not chemistry then there's nothing. And looks, HEIGHT, money, or power doesn't change that.

I wish you well on your quest knowing I would love to be a worthy candidate but I will not impose the longing from different continents thing on you. I want to be your friend above and beyond anything else. Because if you're not friends first nothing else will stick. Plus, I think you need someone who likes you unconditionally and isn't trying to get in your pants. I'm sure you get enough of that. And if not, then let's talk... (kidding! but not really...)

Hi,

no need to feel so desperate. True love still exists and can be found everywhere. Even on/via the internet. Believe it or not, my wife and I found each other through such a dating site over two years ago. You can read all about it on my blog, I'm writing a 25 post series about the first two years as we speak.

But I guess your daughter is right, the internet can be a tool, but in the end you will have to go out...

Cheers,
Max

No matter if you are searching for your soulmate or just another person to spend some quality time with, it's not easy. But don't lose hope: you indeed have to try in order to get something because, no matter how much you want to, Mr. Perfect won't come knocking at your door (unless you do something about that).

On the other hand, there was this stupid romantic comedy once, when one girl told another: "Stop looking for Mr. Right Man, search for Mr. Right Now!" You may never now what happens... :)
