Is divorce right or wrong?

What would you do if you realised you had married the wrong person? Simple: get a divorce, right? What if, like Will Smith, you had a no-divorce policy? In an episode of the "Red Table Talk" starring Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow Smith, Will Smith explained how he was married to the wrong woman and realised he was in love with another.  Of course statements like those have sparked rumours that he may have cheated on his wife, but each party have confirmed it wasn't the case. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZ-B9ELY9-k Will Smith said it hit him hard when Sheree Zampino filed for divorce because of his no-divorce policy, but at the same time, they both knew they weren't in love with each other.

I had the same no-divorce policy when I was married. It took me two-children-and-seven-years-of-trying-to-make-it-work later to finally file for divorce. Although unhappy for the most part of my marriage, I don't regret it because of the beautiful children who came from this disastrous union. It's a fantastic concept if people could just realise and accept they're not meant to be together and just move on, although it may not be as easy as it sounds.

In today's society, divorce is just part of life. Budget Direct stated that the crude divorce rate is 1.8 per 1000 people, a drop from 4.6. One of the main reasons for the drop is that less people are getting married nowadays as being a single parent or being in a de-facto relationship are more acceptable than it used to be. Watching Jada and Will being so open about their marriage is inspiring. I hope when my children finally get married, they will have such an open and beautiful relationship.
